Salicylic acid belongs to the so-called BHA acids /beta-hydroxy acids/ and is the only one of this group that has found application in cosmetics. Applied directly to the skin, salicylic acid takes care of inflammation, cleanses and closes the pores, helps the skin to recover by accelerating natural processes and reduces spots and scars.

Salicylic acid is a member of the beta-hydroxy acid family, is fat-soluble, and is most commonly extracted from willow bark. It has antiseptic and bactericidal action.
 
What is salicylic acid:
 
Keratolytic and depigmenting effect. Thanks to its natural exfoliating properties, it penetrates into the deepest layers of the skin where it breaks down dead skin cells that would otherwise clog pores, and its biggest advantage is that it is very effective against acne, pimples, blackheads and comedones.
